Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Your goodness has no end, my Master — no one knows it all.
Seeing Your wonders, Merciful One, and hearing of them, those who love You tell of them.
All beings and creatures remember You, highest One, Master of all.
All of us are askers; You are the one Giver, full of mercy, Lord of the world.
The holy one, the saint, the wise one, is the one You accept.
Nanak prays: show Your kindness — the ones You are kind to come to know You.
Gun bay-ant — endless virtues, beyond counting. Sarab jaachik ayk daataa — "all are askers, One is the Giver." Everyone stands with open hands before the same generosity, and there is no shame in that. Wisdom (sujaan) here means being welcomed by the One, more than being clever. Karahu kirpaa — knowing comes as a gift received, not a prize earned.
What is something good in your life that came as a gift, not a reward?
