One who has such pre-ordained destiny upon his forehead, O Nanak, has all his desires fulfilled. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Right living, wealth, the wishes of the heart, and freedom — the Master gives these four gifts.

Nanak says: the one who has this written on the forehead has every wish fulfilled.

The things a good life is made of can all grow from one true source.
The deeper layer

Four classic aims of a human life: right living (dharam), the means to live (arth), the wishes of the heart (kaam), and freedom (mokh). All four flow from the One, rather than being chased one by one. Likhi-aa maath — "written on the forehead," the language of destiny: what comes to us comes as the One's gift.

A Question to Sit With

What do you most hope your life will hold, and where might it grow from?
