Nanak says: do not be anxious; the One will take care of you.
The One made the creatures in the water, and gives them their food.
There are no stores down there, and no one farms.
No business is ever done there; no one buys and no one sells.
Creatures eat other creatures; that is the food the One has given them.
The One made them in the oceans, and looks after them too.
Nanak says: do not be anxious; the One will take care of you.
Do not be anxious: the One will take care of you. Creatures in the deep ocean, where there are no shops and no farms, are fed all the same.
This Second Mehl shalok is one of Gurbani's great trust verses, opening and closing on the same refrain, Nanak chintaa mat karahu. Its trust is the same one Anand Sahib shows when it remembers how the One cared for you even before you were born.
What worry could you set down if you trusted you were cared for?
