The One Who Is Both the King and the Kingdom

ਪਉੜੀ ॥
pa-orhee.
Pauree:
ਥਟਣਹਾਰੈ ਥਾਟੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਥਟਿਆ ॥
thatanhaarai thaat aapay hee thati-aa.
The Creator Lord created the Creation.
ਆਪੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਹੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਖਟਿਆ ॥
aapay pooraa saahu aapay hee khati-aa.
He Himself is the perfect Banker; He Himself earns His profit.
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਸਾਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਰੰਗ ਰਟਿਆ ॥
aapay kar paasaar aapay rang rati-aa.
He Himself made the expansive Universe; He Himself is imbued with joy.
ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੀਮ ਨ ਪਾਇ ਅਲਖ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਟਿਆ ॥
kudrat keem na paa-ay alakh barahmati-aa.
The value of God's almighty creative power cannot be estimated.
ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪਰੈ ਪਰਟਿਆ ॥
agam athaah bay-ant parai parti-aa.
He is inaccessible, unfathomable, endless, the farthest of the far.
ਆਪੇ ਵਡ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ਆਪਿ ਵਜੀਰਟਿਆ ॥
aapay vad paatisaahu aap vajeerti-aa.
He Himself is the greatest Emperor; He Himself is His own Prime Minister.
ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੀਮ ਕੇਵਡੁ ਮਟਿਆ ॥
ko-ay na jaanai keem kayvad mati-aa.
No one knows His worth, or the greatness of His resting place.
ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਆਪਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਰਗਟਿਆ ॥੧॥
sachaa saahib aap gurmukh pargati-aa. ||1||
He Himself is our True Lord and Master. He reveals Himself to the Gurmukh. ||1||

In plain words

The Maker made everything that is made.

The One is the rich banker, and the One earns the profit too.

The One spread out the whole wide universe, and the One is filled with its joy.

No one can put a price on the creating power of the unseen, vast One.

The One is beyond reach, deeper than any ocean, without end, farther than the farthest.

The One is the great Emperor, and the One is the Emperor's own chief minister too.

No one knows how much the One is worth, or how great is the place where the One rests.

The One is our true Master, and shows itself to the Gurmukh — the one who turns toward the Guru.

The One who made everything is bigger than anything you can imagine.
The deeper layer

Built on aapay (He Himself): the One is banker and profit, emperor and prime minister, needing nothing outside itself. Self-sufficiency and wonder (vismaad) sit at the heart of it — the value of such creative power cannot be estimated. The One reveals itself to the Gurmukh, the one who turns toward the Guru: shown, not seized.
