When the Searching Stops

pa-orhee.
Pauree:
jis too vuthaa chit tis darad nivaarno.
You relieve the pains of those, within whose consciousness You dwell, O Lord.
jis too vuthaa chit tis kaday na haarno.
Those, within whose consciousness You dwell, never lose.
jis mili-aa pooraa guroo so sarpar taarno.
One who meets the Perfect Guru will surely be saved.
jis no laa-ay sach tis sach samHaalano.
One who is attached to Truth, contemplates Truth.
jis aa-i-aa hath niDhaan so rahi-aa bhaalno.
One, into whose hands the treasure comes, stops searching.
jis no iko rang bhagat so jaanno.
He alone is known as a devotee, who loves the One Lord.
oh sabhnaa kee rayn birhee chaarno.
He is the dust under the feet of all; he is the lover of the Lord's feet.
sabh tayray choj vidaan sabh tayraa kaarno. ||13||
Everything is Your wonderful play; the whole creation is Yours. ||13||

In plain words

When You live in someone's heart, You take their pain away.

When You live in someone's heart, they never lose.

Whoever meets the perfect Guru is surely carried across.

Whoever You join to Truth keeps Truth in mind.

Whoever finds the treasure in their hands stops searching.

Whoever loves the One alone is known as a devotee.

That person is the dust under everyone's feet, and longs for the Beloved's feet.

All of it is Your wonderful play; all of creation is Yours.

When the treasure is in your hands, the restless searching stops.
The deeper layer

Arrival is the theme. The one in whose heart the One lives never loses; the one whose hands hold the treasure stops searching. Humility runs through it (the dust under everyone's feet), and it ends in a wide way of seeing: everything is the One's wondrous play (choj), the whole creation belonging to the One.

A Question to Sit With

What would it feel like to stop searching and realize you already have enough?
