In plain words

The One is the great Giver, so generous — with what mouth could I ever praise enough?

In kindness, the One protects us and keeps us fed.

No one is under anyone else's control; the One is the Support of all.

The One cares for everyone like children, reaching out a hand to each.

The One plays a joyful play that no one can understand.

The all-powerful One holds everyone up; I give my whole self to the One.

Day and night, sing the praises of the One who is worthy of praise.

Those who bow at the Guru's feet taste the sweetness of the One.

You are cared for like a child by the One who gives to everyone.
The deeper layer

A pauree of providence and parenthood. Two quiet radical notes sit inside it: no one is under anyone else's control (a rejection of domination), and the world is the One's khel, its joyous play, beyond our full grasp. Praise flows day and night, and those who come humbly to the Guru taste the sweetness at its heart.

A Question to Sit With

Who takes care of you in ways you do not always notice?
