Then the True Guru, son of Pheru, came to live in Khadoor.
Meditation, discipline and self-control stay with you, while others are swollen with pride.
Greed spoils people the way green scum spoils still water.
In the Guru's court, the light of the One shines with all its creative power.
You are a cooling peace so deep that no one can find the bottom.
You overflow with the nine treasures, and with the greatest treasure, the Naam.
Whoever speaks against you crumbles to dust.
People of the world see only what is close by, but you see far beyond.
Then the True Guru, son of Pheru, came to live in Khadoor.
Guru Angad came to live at Khadoor. Greed clouds a life the way scum clouds clear water. 'Cooling peace' (tharoor) whose depth cannot be found is a favorite Gurbani picture of the settled heart.
He held the nine treasures and, above them, the Naam. Talk against such a person comes to nothing: it crumbles, while his peace stays deep.
Can you tell the difference between someone who is kind and someone who just looks impressive?
