In plain words

The Naam of the One is the jewel, the emerald, the ruby. The Guru has dug it out and set it right in the palm of your hand.

The unlucky one, who follows only their own mind, does not take it. The priceless gem stays hidden behind a thin wisp of straw.

Sometimes the greatest gift is hidden only by a thin wisp of straw we never brush aside.
The deeper layer

Talee dikhlaa-i-aa — the jewel is shown right in the open palm. The striking image is trin olai laakh chhapaa-i-aa: a fortune hidden behind a curtain of straw. The barrier is thin, and it is self-made — the little wisp of self-focus that hides an endless gift. Those who miss it are named with sorrow at how close it was, not to condemn them.

A Question to Sit With

Is there something good, right in front of you, that you keep walking past?
