The filth of evil-mindedness is totally washed away; joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, one is blessed with understanding. ||1||

In plain words

Meeting the humble servants of the One, joy bubbles up in me; they tell the beautiful story of the One.

The grime of a mind bent the wrong way washes right off, like dirt rinsing away in clean water.

Joining the Sangat, a person gains understanding.

The right company rinses your mind clean and clears your sight.
The deeper layer

Satsangat is the Sangat, people gathered together to remember the One. Durmat is a mind bent the wrong way, and mail is the grime that gathers on it. The Sangat works like a bath for the mind: you don’t scrub yourself clean, you simply step into water that does it for you.

A Question to Sit With

Who do you feel clearer and better around?
