Self-Conceit Slipped Away

Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:

My self-conceit has been eliminated from my body.

The Will of God is dear to me.

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The "it's all about me" feeling has left my body.

The One's will feels dear to me.

Whatever the One does tastes sweet to my mind.

And then these eyes see the Wonderful One.

When the "all about me" feeling leaves, the One's will tastes sweet.
The deeper layer

Apnee Dhaaree chhutkee — self-conceit (haumai, the feeling of being a separate self) drops away, and aagi-aa lagee pi-aaree — the Will, the flow of existence, becomes dear. Then achraj nainhu deethaa — the wonder that was always present is finally seen.

A Question to Sit With

When does letting go of "me first" make a moment better?
