Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Joining the Sangat, a light came on inside me.

A deep, easy peace settled in, and my hopes came true.

The Perfect Guru planted a settled trust in me.

Nanak says: I serve those who serve the One.

The Sangat is where the inner light comes on.
The deeper layer

The Sangat (saadhsang), people gathered together to remember the One, is where pargaas, an inner light, dawns and sahj sookh, a natural ease, settles. Bisaas is trust that has taken root, a confidence that grows over time. Daasan daas, servant of servants, is glad humility, not lowliness.

A Question to Sit With

Who are the people who bring out the best, calmest version of you?
