Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My attention, my thinking and my understanding have all lit up.

The One is deep beyond measuring, endless, the treasure of every good quality.

The One cares for every living being.

Nanak says: seeing the saints, I am filled with joy.

When the heart wakes, awareness, thought and understanding all brighten.
The deeper layer

Three parts of the mind light up together: surat, attention; mat, thinking; and budh, understanding. It is like one switch that turns on every light in the house at once.

Then the view gets wider. The One is guntaas, a treasure of every good quality. The One cares for every living thing, big and small. And Guru Arjan is filled with joy just seeing the saints who live this way.

A Question to Sit With

What idea or moment once made your whole mind feel more awake?
