Nanak seeks the protection and support of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||16||27||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Give up all your cleverness and tricks.

O mind, without the Name there is no place to rest.

The Lord of the world has been kind to me.

Nanak says: I lean on the One, *Har, Har*, as my only support.

Sometimes the smartest move is to stop being so clever.
The deeper layer

Chhod si-aanap baho chaturaa-ee — drop the cleverness. A scheming mind never rests. Peace comes from tayk, a support you lean your whole weight on, like a tired hiker leaning on a strong walking stick.

A Question to Sit With

When has overthinking made something harder than it needed to be?
