ਸੋਧਤ ਸੋਧਤ ਸੋਧਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
soDhat soDhat soDh beechaaraa.
Searching, searching, searching, I have realized
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ॥
bin har bhagat nahee chhutkaaraa.
that without devotional worship of the Lord, no one is saved.
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
so har bhajan saaDh kai sang.
So vibrate, and meditate on that Lord in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy;
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੩॥
man tan raapai har kai rang. ||3||
your mind and body shall be imbued with love for the Lord. ||3||

Searching and searching, thinking it all through, I have come to see
that without loving worship of the One, no one is set free.
So sing and remember the One in the Sangat,
and your mind and body will be colored with the One's love.
After all the searching, the answer turns out to be love.
Sodhat sodhat sodh beechaaraa — searching, searching, searching — and all of it lands on one answer: bin har bhagat nahee chhutkaaraa, without loving devotion no one is set free. That love grows saadh kai sang, in the Sangat, people gathered together to remember the One.
