Why should he ever go begging again? ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Whoever is given the gift of the jewel of the Name

holds every treasure there is.

Finding the perfect One, their mind fills with contentment.

Why would they ever go begging again?

A content heart stops begging for more.
The deeper layer

A full heart stops begging.

Naam ratan means the jewel of the Name. The Name is the One, held close in the mind. Whoever is given this jewel holds every treasure. It is one jewel worth all the others.

Then comes santokh, contentment, the feeling of having enough. The mind finds the One and settles. Fir fir maagan kaahay jaa-ay — why would anyone go begging again and again?

Think of a hungry kid who keeps opening the fridge. After a warm, real meal, they stop looking. A heart that already has what it was reaching for stops chasing.

A Question to Sit With

What is “enough” for you — and how would you know when you've reached it?
