Nanak's God is Himself all-in-all. ||4||25||36||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Listen to the true account of the saints.

They speak only of what they have seen with their own eyes.

The One is not touched by good deeds or bad.

Nanak says: my God is everything, all on its own.

Trust the people who speak only from what they have seen.
The deeper layer

Santan kee sun saachee saakhee — the true testimony of the saints, who speak only what they see. Nahee layp tis punn na paap: the One is not smeared by merit or fault — it stands beyond the ledger. Aapay aap: the One is all-in-all, self-complete.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you know because you saw it yourself, not because you were told?
