His value cannot be described; the True Lord is unseen and mysterious. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Serving the Guru bears fruit.

No one can put the One's worth into words.

The True One is unseen and beyond all knowing.

The most valuable things are the ones no price tag can measure.
The deeper layer

Some things are priceless precisely because no number fits them. Serving the Guru brings fruit, and the One it leads to is beyond any price.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the centre of the shabad. Safal sayvaa gurdayvaa — service to the Guru is fruitful. Keemat kichh kahan na jaa-ee: the value cannot be spoken. Alakh abhayvaa: unseen, beyond knowing.

A Question to Sit With

What is something in your life that you could never put a price on?
