Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:
kot janam kay binsay paap.
The sins of millions of incarnations are eradicated.
har har japat naahee santaap.
Meditating on the Lord, Har, Har, pain will not afflict you.
gur kay charan kamal man vasay.
When the Lord's lotus feet are enshrined in the mind,
mahaa bikaar tan tay sabh nasay. ||1||
all terrible evils are taken away from the body. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The wrongs gathered over countless lifetimes are wiped away.
Repeating the One's Name, Har, Har, pain finds no place to land on you.
When the Guru's lotus feet live in the mind,
all the great harms run out of the body.
Remembering the One lets old weight quietly fall away.
Old burdens loosen: kot janam kay binsay paap, the wrongs of countless births are wiped away. Mahaa bikaar tan tay sabh nasay: the great harms run out of the body, a picture of healing, of things clearing out to make room.
The lotus feet are the Guru's (gur kay charan kamal). Keeping them in the mind means staying humble and close to the Guru's guidance.
A Question to Sit With
