Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The Guru, the Highest One, lives in all.

That treasure of all goodness fills every single heart.

Please let me see You; O One, I place my hopes in You.

Nanak says: every day I offer this true prayer.

The One you long to see already lives in every heart, including your own.
The deeper layer

Ghat ghat rav rahi-aa gun-taas: the treasure of goodness fills each and every heart. So the prayer is simple and daily: let me see You.

The close is ardaas, prayer: not a demand, but a daily reaching-out. Sach ardaas is a true prayer, one that matches the longing of the heart.

A Question to Sit With

If you could ask for just one thing each day, what would it be?
