In plain words

Above the body's six centres, the mind lives free of clinging.

Awareness of the sound of the Word has woken deep inside me.

The unstruck music plays within me, a song no hand plays, and my mind is tuned to it. Through the Guru's teaching, my trust rests in the True Name.

*Something quiet and steady can wake up inside you and hold you.*
The deeper layer

Deep inside, a mind free of clinging hears a music no hand plays, and rests in the True Name.

Khat mat dayhee man bairaagee means that above the body's six chakras, the energy centres yogis speak of, the mind grows free of clinging. Surat sabad dhun ... jaagee means awareness of the sound of the Word wakes up. Anhad is the "unstruck melody," the inner sound no instrument makes. It is a central Gurbani picture of a soul that has woken up. Pateenaa means the mind is convinced, settled and at rest in the True Name.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever felt a deep quiet inside, underneath all the noise? What was that like?
