A Priceless Jewel Within

maa-i-aa moh bivaraj samaa-ay.
Eradicating attachment to Maya, one merges into the Lord.
satgur bhaytai mayl milaa-ay.
Meeting with the True Guru, we unite in His Union.
naam ratan nirmolak heeraa.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is a priceless jewel, a diamond.
tit raataa mayraa man Dheeraa. ||2||
Attuned to it, the mind is comforted and encouraged. ||2||

In plain words

Setting aside the pull of *maya*, the shiny surface of the world, you merge into the One.

Meeting the True Guru, you are joined in union.

The Naam is a jewel with no price, a diamond. Colored by it, my mind grows steady and comforted.

*The most precious thing has no price — and it steadies the heart that holds it.*
The deeper layer

The Naam is a priceless jewel, and it steadies the heart that holds it.

Maa-i-aa moh bivaraj means setting aside the clinging pull of the world; then one samaa-ay, merges into the One. Naam ratan nirmolak heeraa calls the Naam a jewel and a diamond beyond price. Gurbani often uses this picture for the treasure inside us. Man dheeraa means the mind becomes steady, patient, brave and comforted.
