This harp does not center you in meditation, Yogi, nor does it bring the True Name into your lap.

This harp does not bring you peace, Yogi, nor eliminate egotism from within you. ||4||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
This harp in your hands, Yogi, cannot settle you in meditation, and cannot bring the Truth into your lap.
This harp cannot bring you peace, Yogi, and cannot clear the pride out from within you.
Going through the motions can't give you what only the heart can find.
It kinguree — “this harp” — is the outer, physical practice, set against the anhad harp of the rahau. The critique here is of formalism: outward ritual without inner turning brings neither centering nor peace nor freedom from abhimaan (pride).
A Question to Sit With
Where might you be doing the motions without the meaning?
