This body is a pool, O Saints; bathe in it, and enshrine love for the Lord. ||13||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
O saints, this body is a pool.
Bathe in it, and keep your love for the One close inside.
The most sacred pool is the love you carry inside.
Ehu sareer sarvar hai — this body is the sacred pool. The cleansing bath, the inner isnaan, is love for the One enshrined within.
Pilgrimage-bathing is honored in many traditions. The verse turns that same longing to be clean inward, toward the heart.
A Question to Sit With
What “washes you clean” on the inside?
