Verse 21 of 28

The Devotee's Word Outlasts the Ages

ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਰਹੀ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨੦॥
bhagat janaa kee ootam banee jug jug rahee samaa-ee. ||20||
The Bani, the Word of the humble devotee is the most sublime and exalted; it prevails throughout the ages. ||20||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The words of the humble devotees are the highest words of all.

They live on, age after age.

Words that come from love outlast the ages.
The deeper layer

Bhagat janaa kee ootam banee — the utterance of the humble devotee is the most sublime, and jug jug rahee samaa-ee, it abides through every age. Words born of love last in a way clever argument never does.
