Sikhism·Raag Raamkalee·Shabad 93
Verse 16 of 22

The Word Kept Inside

jin antar sabad aap pachhaaneh gat mit tin hee paa-ee. ||15||
Those who have the Shabad deep within, understand themselves; they find the way of salvation. ||15||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Those who carry the Word deep inside come to understand themselves.

They find the way to freedom.

Know yourself through the Word, and the way opens.
The deeper layer

Jin antar sabad — those with the Word within. Gat mit means the state and the measure, the way of liberation. Self-understanding and the open road are the same event: knowing where you stand is what lets the path appear.

A Question to Sit With

How does knowing yourself better help you know what to do next?
