Light Into Light

ਏਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਸੁੰਨ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਵੈ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੧੬॥
ayhu manoo-aa sunn samaaDh lagaavai jotee jot milaa-ee. ||16||
Their minds enter into the deepest state of Samaadhi, and their light is absorbed into the Light. ||16||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Their minds sink into the deepest, stillest meditation, where all the chatter falls quiet.

And their little light merges into the great Light, the way a candle flame disappears into the sunshine.

Deep stillness is where the small light remembers the great Light.
The deeper layer

Sunn samaadh is the deep, still, empty absorption — sunn meaning the profound void-like stillness, samaadh the settled meditative depth. Jotee jot milaa-ee: light merging into Light, the individual spark recognizing it was never separate from its source.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever felt so quiet inside that you forgot where you ended and the world began?
