Sikhism·Raag Raamkalee·Shabad 94
Verse 21 of 31

Seekers Find

jo parabh khojeh say-ee paavahi hor foot moo-ay ahaNkaaree. ||20||
Those who seek God, find Him; others burst and die from their own egotism. ||20||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Those who look for the One find the One.

Others, puffed up with pride, burst like a balloon blown too big, and their life is lost.

Seeking finds the One; pride swells until it bursts.
The deeper layer

Jo prabh khojeh sayee paavahi — the seekers find. Hor foot mooay ahankaaree — the others burst and die of their own pride. Ahankaar (pride) defeats itself; it swells until it cannot hold. The finding belongs to those who seek.

A Question to Sit With

What have you found simply because you kept honestly looking for it?
