In plain words

The One shaped you out of water and formed your body from the earth.

The One gave you a mind that can think and a clear awareness that can notice.

And in your mother's womb, before you were born, the One kept you safe.

You were cared for and kept safe before you could ever ask for it.
The deeper layer

Remember who made you, and how gently you were cared for from the very start.

Is paanee tay jin too ghari-aa — the One shaped you out of this water. Maatee kaa lay dayhuraa kari-aa — and formed your body from clay. Dayhuraa means the body, like a little house you live in. Water and earth are simple, everyday things. From them, a whole person was made.

Then came two more gifts. Ukat jot is the light of reason, the power to think. Surat is awareness, the power to notice.

Maat garabh meh jin too raakhi-aa — in your mother's womb, the One kept you safe. Before you ever opened your eyes, you were already being looked after. The picture here is all tenderness, like a seed kept warm under the soil until it is ready.

A Question to Sit With

What are some ways you were cared for before you could even remember?
