In plain words

The One gave you the air you breathe, worth more than any treasure.

The One gave you water beyond price.

The One gave you burning fire.

O mind, rest in the shelter of that Master.

The most priceless gifts — air, water, warmth — are the ones we forget to notice.
The deeper layer

Air, water and fire come to you every day as gifts from the One.

Pavan amolaa — air, worth more than any price. Neer nirmolaa — water, also beyond price. Paavak — fire, which warms us and cooks our food.

We almost never think about these. We breathe all day without noticing. Water comes from the tap. But try holding your breath for a moment, and you feel how precious air is.

These are grace in the most everyday form. They are given freely, to everyone, every day. Tis thaakur kee rahu man sarnaa — O mind, rest in the shelter of that Master.

A Question to Sit With

What free, everyday thing would you miss most if it were gone?
