In plain words

The One gave you eyes to see and ears to hear.

The One gave you hands to work with, a nose and a tongue.

The One gave you feet to walk on, and your head held high like a crown.

O mind, bow at the feet of that Master.

Your own body, head to toe, is a gift you carry everywhere.
The deeper layer

Your body, from head to toe, is a gift, and every part of it points back to the Giver.

Paykhan ka-o naytar — eyes to see. Sunan ka-o karnaa — ears to hear. Then hands to work, a nose and a tongue, feet to walk, and the head at the very top.

Try this at the table. Wiggle your fingers. Taste something sweet. Listen for a sound in the room. Each of these works quietly all day, and we hardly ever say thanks.

Man tis thaakur kay poojahu pairaa — O mind, bow at the feet of that Master. Bowing at someone's feet is a way of showing deep love and respect. Here it means keeping the Giver close in your heart.

A Question to Sit With

Which part of your body are you most thankful to have today?
