Lifted and Made Whole

apvitar pavitar jin too kari-aa.
He transformed you from impure to pure;
sagal jon meh too sir Dhari-aa.
He installed you above the heads of all creatures;
ab too seejh bhaavai nahee seejhai.
now, you may fulfill your destiny or not;
kaaraj savrai man parabh Dhi-aa-eejai. ||6||
Your affairs shall be resolved, O mind, meditating on God. ||6||

In plain words

The One lifted you and made you whole, and set human life high above the rest.

Now the choice is yours, whether to make good on it or not.

O mind, keep the One in mind, and your life's work comes right.

You have been given a rare and precious life — the invitation is to make good on it.
The deeper layer

A human life is precious, and you get to choose how to use it.

Apvitar pavitar jin too kari-aa — the One made you pure from impure. Pavitar means pure, clean. Think of being lifted up and made whole, not of being ashamed.

Sagal jon meh too sir Dhari-aa — among all living things, you were set at the top. A human life is rare and full of chances.

Ab too seejh bhaavai nahee seejhai — now it is up to you whether you make good on it. It is like being handed a new notebook on the first day of school. What goes on the pages is your choice.

Kaaraj savrai man prabh Dhi-aa-eejai — your life comes right, O mind, when you keep God in mind.

A Question to Sit With

What is one good thing you could do with the life you have been given?
