ਸਤਿ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਜਨ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
sat parmaysar sat saaDh jan nihchal har kaa naa-o.
The Supreme Lord God is True, and True are the Holy Saints; the Name of the Lord is steady and stable.
ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਵਨੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥
bhagat bhaavnee paarbarahm kee abhinaasee gun gaa-o. ||1||
So worship the Imperishable, Supreme Lord God with love, and sing His Glorious Praises. ||1||

The Supreme One is true, and the holy people are true. The Naam of the One stands steady and never wobbles.
So love the One who never fades, and sing the praises of the One with all your heart.
Some things wobble and fade; the One holds steady — build your love there.
The One is true and lasting, and the Naam stands steady.
Sat parmaysar, sat saaDh jan: the Supreme is sat, true and enduring, and so are the holy people; the Naam is nihchal, unmoving. In a world of things that wash off like cheap dye, the abhinaasee, the imperishable One, holds — worshipped with bhaavnee, heartfelt love.
