Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The true Guru is the true Giver.

One sight of the Guru, and all my sorrows run away. I give my heart gladly to those lotus feet.

The truest giver keeps giving, and one clear look can lift a heavy load.
The deeper layer

The true Guru is the true Giver, and one clear sight of the Guru lifts every sorrow.

Saachay satguroo daataaraa — the true Guru is the true Giver, a Giver who keeps on giving. Darsan daykh sagal dukh naaseh — seeing the Guru, all sorrows run away. Charan kamal balihaaraa — I give myself gladly to the lotus feet, the way a heart full of thanks gives itself over.

A Question to Sit With

Who in your life keeps giving without keeping score?
