That humble devotee is a slave of his God, who listens to Him, and so lives.

I have made the effort to gaze upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; it is obtained only by good karma. ||1||

There are people who come alive just by listening for the One — the way you lean in when someone you love is speaking. I want to be like that.
So I keep showing up, keep trying to catch a glimpse of that presence. And the glimpse, when it comes, is a gift — something that meets my effort halfway.
Keep leaning in to listen — the glimpse that comes is a gift meeting your effort.
Sun jeevaa means “I live by listening” — this is Suniai, deep listening as the very source of life, not just hearing sound. Udam is honest effort; karam here means grace as much as it means karma. Effort and grace meet: you do your part, and the seeing arrives as a gift.
A Question to Sit With
What is something you keep showing up for, even when the reward only comes now and then?
