May I never forget You, even for an instant, O my Creator Lord; Nanak begs for this blessing. ||2||90||113||

In plain words

When your heart is full of the One who takes fear away, you begin to understand everyone and everything around you — because you are seeing from a place that is not afraid.

Nanak says: this is my one request — my Creator, let me keep You in mind always, never losing You even for a moment. Of all the things I could ask for, this is the one I ask.

The one thing worth asking for is to never lose sight of the One.
The deeper layer

bhai bhanjan is the Destroyer of fear. A heart that rests in the fearless One begins to jaanai sagal jahaan, to know the whole world, because fear is what distorts our seeing. The closing line is a daan, a request for a blessing — not for wealth or safety but simply for continuous remembrance. It is the humblest possible ask, and the largest.

A Question to Sit With

If you could ask for just one thing and keep it forever, what would it be — and why that?
