ਗੋਬਿਦ ਜੀਉ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰ ॥
gobid jee-o too mayray paraan aDhaar.
O Dear Lord of the Universe, You are the Support of my breath of life.
ਸਾਜਨ ਮੀਤ ਸਹਾਈ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੋ ਪਰਵਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saajan meet sahaa-ee tum hee too mayro parvaar. ||1|| rahaa-o.

Dear One, You are the support of my every breath.
You are my friend, my companion and my helper. You are my family.
The One is friend, helper, and family all at once — every closeness you need, in a single source.
praan adhaar means the support of the very breath. Every close human role is gathered and placed in the One — saajan (friend), meet (companion), sahaa-ee (helper), parvaar (family). The One is the nearest relationship of all, holding every role the heart depends on.
