By Your Grace, I have obtained all fruits and rewards; I meditate on the Lord's Name with delight. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You placed Your hand on my forehead, and in the Sangat I sing Your praise.

By Your kindness I have received every good thing. Now I hold the Naam with delight, the way you keep humming a song you love.

When you feel watched over, remembering the One becomes a joy.
The deeper layer

kar mastak dhaari-o is the hand placed on the forehead: an image of blessing and belonging, as a parent’s hand rests on a child. The fal, the fruits, come tumree kirpaa tay — by grace, as a gift. rasak means with relish: remembrance here is a pleasure. Keeping the Naam in mind is delight.

saaDhsang is the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One.

A Question to Sit With

When has someone’s kindness made you want to do something good — not because you had to, but because you wanted to?
