Wonder-Struck and at Ease

ਐਸੀ ਰਵਤ ਰਵਹੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਈ ॥
aisee ravat ravhu man mayray har charnee chit laa-ee.
Follow such a path, O my conscious mind, that you may remain focused on the Feet of the Lord.
ਬਿਸਮ ਭਏ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਮਨੋਹਰ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੩॥
bisam bha-ay gun gaa-ay manohar nirbha-o sahj samaa-ee. ||3||
I am wonder-struck, singing the Glorious Praises of my Fascinating Lord; I am intuitively absorbed in the Fearless Lord. ||3||

In plain words

Walk in a way, my mind, that keeps you turned toward the One, the way a flower keeps turning toward the sun.

When I sing its wonders, I am struck speechless with awe — and I settle, easily and without fear, into the One who fears nothing.

Awe and ease are companions — wonder settles the heart.
The deeper layer

bisam bha-ay means wonder-struck; it is the same astonishment traditionally heard in the exclamation Wahe ("Wow!"), the sound of the heart before the One. sahj samaa-ee is an intuitive, effortless settling — not forced, but the natural ease of a mind that has stopped fighting. The Fearless One (Nirbhau) passes its fearlessness to the one absorbed in it.

A Question to Sit With

What fills you with awe and calms you at the same time?
