My body suffers in pain, without the Lord; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I find the Lord.

O Dear Lord, please be kind and compassionate to me, that I might remain merged in You, O Lord. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
When I forget the One, everything in me aches. Through the Guru's Word, I find the One again, right here.
So I ask, gently: be kind to me. Let me stay close, folded into You like a drop settling back into the ocean.
Deep listening brings you home to what you missed.
The restless suffering body (ganat sareer) aches when it is cut off from the One. The healing comes gur sabdee, through the Word — deep listening to the teaching. The closing plea to remain merged is the wave asking to remember that it was always ocean.
