In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

Look, and you will see the same One everywhere — the One who gives you the courage to be unafraid. It fills every heart completely, and yet it stays free, never tangled or trapped.

The way waves rise up out of the water and are still only water, the whole world rose up out of the One and is still the One. It tastes every taste, delights in every heart, and there is nothing else anywhere that is like it.

There is one color that colors everything — the love of the One — and in the Sangat that One is recognized. Nanak says: drinking in that sight, I am like a fish that has found its water at last. Look, and you will see the Giver of fearlessness in all.

See the same One in everyone — and drink that sight in like a fish finding water.
The deeper layer

The One who gives fearlessness, the daataa of anbhai, can be seen in all. ghat ghat pooran yet alipaataa — filling every heart, yet unattached. jal tarang, waves and water, pictures creation rising from the One as waves rise from the sea and never stop being sea.

The one color, ik rangee, is the One's love, recognized in satsang — the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One. daras leenaa ji-o jal meenaa — drinking in the sight like a fish that cannot live apart from its water.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you feel most fully at home, the way a fish belongs in water?
