In plain words

When you listen to the Naam with your whole attention, your mind lights up with joy and a deep calm settles over you. Listen like that, and the mind stops feeling hungry and restless; its aches quietly fall away.

Listening makes the Naam grow inside you, and with it comes a quiet greatness. Through the Naam comes every kind of honor and standing, and through the Naam you are set free. The Guru's people hold the Naam in their attention. Nanak says: I am tuned to the Naam with love.

Listening closely quiets the restless hunger in you and lets a calm joy in.
The deeper layer

Pauri 6, Suniai sequence. Hearing the Name delights and satisfies the mind and removes its aches. Honor and status (jaat pat) come through the Name itself rather than birth — a quiet caste-leveling note. The one who faces the Guru is lovingly attuned (liv laa-ee).

A Question to Sit With

When you give something your full attention, how does it change how you feel?
