Every kind of knowing and searching, every song and every bit of wisdom, every holy place, every kingdom and every joy. All of it belongs to one great flow. Every person, every wonder in the sky, every world, every living being. All of it too.
It all moves within the flow of existence, the way things work. Each action leaves its record. Nanak says: True is the One. True is its Naam. True is the gathering around it, and true is its court.
Everything there is moves inside one great flow, and only the One lasts.
The verse is a long list. All wisdom and all Yoga. All the old holy books, the Vedas and Puraanas. All hard practices, songs, and learning. All holy places, all kingdoms, all joys. All people, all heavenly beings, all worlds, and every living thing.
Then everything is gathered under one word: Hukam. The Hukam is the One's will, the way things truly flow. Karmee vahai kalaam — the One's pen writes the record of what each one does. Every action leaves a true mark.
The last line says "true" four times. Sachaa sach naa-ay — the One is true, and the Name is true. Sach sabhaa deebaan — true is the gathering of those who turn to the One, and true is the One's court. Think of a big river. Leaves, boats, and fish all ride on it, and the river itself is what carries them all.
When you zoom out far enough, what connects all the different things in your life?
