The One, pure and spotless, brought itself into being all on its own. Then it set up the whole world like a grand game and filled it with everything you see.
It made the three threads that all of nature is woven from, and it let attachment — the pull to grab and hold — grow strong inside the game. By the Guru's grace, the ones who come through safely are the ones who learn to love the flow of existence, the way things move. Nanak says: Truth runs quietly through every corner of it, and everything rests inside Truth.
The first pauri proper. Niranjanaa is the unstained One. The three gunas (tarai gun) are the three qualities all of nature is woven from; maya moh is attachment. Loving the Will — bhaanaa bhaa-i-aa, aligning with Hukam — is what saves. Sach vartdaa, sabh sach samaa-i-aa: Truth pervades everything, and all is contained within Truth.
