For someone whose heart is turned toward the Guru, everything they have — money, belongings, all of it — becomes sacred, because of how they use it. When you spend what you have for the One and give freely, you find a quiet peace.
And here is the surprising part: those who remember the Naam never run short. Nanak says the One's devotees think of nothing else; they are absorbed in the Naam, and their hearts are already full.
Wealth becomes sacred when it is used for the One and given away.
Gurmukh sabh pavit hai dhan sampai maa-i-aa — for one turned toward the Guru, wealth, property, all of Maya is pavit, sacred. Earlier pauris warned about the pull of Maya; here the same things shine because of how they are used. Har arath jo kharchday dayNday sukh paa-i-aa — those who spend for the One find peace in giving. Tin tot na aa-i-aa — they never run short. Absorbed in the Naam, they leave the craving behind.
What is something you could share that would make you feel richer, not poorer?
