The heart at home with the One is no longer tossed back and forth, no longer gripped by fear or ache.
Nanak says: the One makes it beautiful with a natural, easy peace. Just seeing the One, it grows steady and glad.
The heart that has found the One is calm, steady and glad.
The verse says this soul no longer comes and goes from life to life. It does not suffer, and the pain of sickness does not touch it.
"Sahj suhaylee" means made lovely by sahaj, natural and easy peace. Sahaj is one of Gurbani's deepest words. It means the calm of a soul that has stopped fighting itself.
Think of a boat that has reached the harbor. The sea outside can still be rough, but the boat rests quietly.
"Prabh daykhat hee man dheeray" means just seeing the One, the mind grows steady. This is the happy other side of the restless heart in the verse before.
