The Wall Comes Down

Says Nanak, I have found intuitive peace, poise and bliss.

Tearing down the wall, I have met the Lord, the Embodiment of Supreme Bliss. ||4||14||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Nanak says: I have found it — a deep, easy peace, a steadiness, a quiet joy that does not need a reason.

It was as if a wall stood between me and the One, and suddenly it came down. Nothing was separating us; there was only ever the One, waiting on the other side of a wall I thought was solid.

The wall between you and the One was never as solid as it seemed.
The deeper layer

The wall comes down, and the seeker meets the embodiment of supreme bliss. The "wall" is haumai, the illusion of separation; its falling is not a journey to somewhere new but the discovery that there was never a real distance. This is the Ik Onkar teaching felt as homecoming.

A Question to Sit With

What is a wall you once believed in that turned out not to be real?
