Wandering, wandering, I grew so tired; meeting the Guru, I fell at His Feet.

Says Nanak, I have found total peace; this life-night of mine passes in peace. ||2||3||26||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I wandered and wandered until I was worn out and weary.

Then I met the Guru and fell at the Guru's feet.

Nanak says, I have found complete peace, and now my nights pass in deep, easy peace.

Rest comes when the tired wandering finally finds its home.
The deeper layer

Bharmatou bharmatou haar — wandering and wandering until worn out — is the honest picture of a searching that tires you. Meeting the Guru, the heart charan paraatay, comes to rest, and finds sarab sukh, complete peace; the nights now pass in ease. The tired wandering finds its home.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like to finally rest after searching a long time?
