The Guru, the Giver of peace, has become merciful to me. I was blind - I see the jewel of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Now I have found the One to lean on.

The Guru, the giver of peace, has been kind to me. I was blind, and now I see the jewel.

Grace lets you see the jewel that was always there.
The deeper layer

Har taykaa — the support of the One — is found, and the Guru, sukh-daaee, becomes kind. The image is of a blind person suddenly seeing a jewel: andhulai maanik daykhaa. This is Gurprasad — grace does not create the jewel; it lets you finally see what was always here, once you step out of the shadow.

A Question to Sit With

Has something wonderful ever been right in front of you long before you noticed it?
