A Sweetness That Outshines Everything

gobid pareet lagee at meethee avar visar sabh jaa-ay.
The Love of the Lord of the Universe seems supremely sweet. Everything else is forgotten.
an-din rahas bha-i-aa man maani-aa jotee jot milaa-ay. ||1||
Night and day, he is in ecstasy; his mind is pleased and appeased, and his light merges into the Light. ||1||

In plain words

Love for the One turns so sweet that everything else just slips out of mind.

Day and night the heart brims with joy, at peace, until your own small light melts into the great Light.

When love for the One turns sweet enough, everything else quietly lets go.
The deeper layer

When love for the One grows sweet, everything else slips away.

Gobid preet lagee at meethee — love for the One feels supremely sweet. Avar visar sabh jaa-ay — everything else is forgotten. An-din rahas is joy, day and night.

Jotee jot milaa-ay — the small light merges into the great Light. Think of a candle carried out into the sunshine. Its little flame is still there, and now it is part of all that light.

A Question to Sit With

What's something so good it makes everything else fade into the background?
