I am a sacrifice to the One who gave it to me; I humbly bow to the Perfect Guru. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The nectar of the Naam is what holds up my mind.

I would give myself for the One who gave it to me. I bow to the perfect Guru.

The Name is the root that holds a restless mind steady.
The deeper layer

Amrit naam maneh aadhaaro — the nectar-Name as the mind’s support. Aadhaaro is the foundation or prop; without it the mind is blown about, with it the mind holds. Kurbaanai (devotedly given over) and namaskaaro (a bow) express gratitude, never fear.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that steadies you when your thoughts are blowing all over the place?
